Professional Computer Services sells laptops, desktops, servers, point-of-sale equipment and computer peripherals.  Unlike the big retailers, our preferred customer is a business; the computers we sell are designed for a business environment.  We sell Dell and HP equipment, they are our partners.  You can buy your HP laptop at a retailer or you can order directly from Dell but there is an answer to why you should buy through us:

Professional Services.

If you order your computer equipment from a retailer or on the internet they will sell what they have, not necessarily what you need.  Odds are you will get a home computer loaded with games and other software that you don't need and which interferes with the business applications you intend to run. Odds are the hardware will be designed for a home environment too, they won't care that the disk drive is large but slow ( to store pictures and video that a typical home computer is used for ) and that the computer has a slow bus and not enough memory to run your business software efficiently. They won't care that it takes your employees 10 minutes to boot up every morning before they can start working and that the slow computer costs each employee another 30 minutes of waiting every working day.

If you order your computer equipment from a retailer or on the internet they will be glad to send some 19 year old nerd into your office to connect it to your business network.  They will be glad to bill you for someone who you normally wouldn't trust to mow your lawn too.  Amazingly they even seem to be proud of that "nerd" label.  Wouldn't you rather have a

We occasionally get calls from some desperate business because they used a desktop computer as a server.  No RAID disk, inadequate backup software, the last backup is 6 months old and the disk drive crashed.  Its tough to tell a businessman that he has to send his disk drive to California for a week, pay several thousand dollars and hope that some of the data can be recovered.  We won't do that to you, sell an inadequate "server" that will put your company at risk. Of course our services don't end with a hardware sale and installation. We prefer to support you with a maintenance contract at a reasonable price rather than wait for a disaster.  If you wish we can perform your backups, keep your security software up to date, enforce rules that prevent your employees from stepping on each other's data, etc.  We can be your IT department or if you are large enough to have a full time IT employee, assist that employee with the unusual things they need help with.
